Seeing as my book goes on sale in a few hours I've been tempted to go over to the shop to check if people are camping out to buy it. Obviously I'm joking, but it got me thinking about that whole camping out on the sidewalk business.
There are musicians who have fans who will camp out on sidewalks to buy tickets to their concerts. A few years ago when I went to pick up the last Harry Potter book at Border's it was One o'clock in the morning, and the place was mobbed. Can you imagine what it must feel like to have something you thought of, something from your imagination create such enthusiasm?
...to each their own.
Is there any chance of a formal book-signing, or should just get a chai and take up a position in the window seats to wait for an author sighting?
ReplyDeleteThere is a book signing scheduled for December 7th- a Sunday afternoon. I'm certain you would also be successful enacting your alternate plan. Who can resist that delicious Chai?
ReplyDeleteHmmm... December 7th, a date that will live in infamy...
ReplyDeleteI know! For anyone that notices I figured I'd bill it as "Pearls of Wisdom."
ReplyDeleteUm, Dec. 7th is a monday? My Artists Market is on the 6th. I hope you can come. I'll be in the Pannikin maybe tomorrow to pick up my signed book. It better be good! Hee Hee
ReplyDeleteOh, it's a Monday? I don't think that'll work. Probably gonna have to change that. I'll let you know.
ReplyDeleteFinally, i can say i know someone who has been published. Its amazing what some people get up to when you let them be for a while. I'm very pleased to have acquainted myself with your alter ego, her thoughts have always resonated well with me. And just so you know i did some research and this is what i came up with, Tweety was certainly a sweet bird, i wish i could dissapear sometimes, Jeff the Painter sounds like a nice guy, what about Paul thr Painter i herd he was a splendid chap as well as i'm sure Maxfield Parish was
ReplyDeleteI have long believed Paul the Painter to be one of the most splendid chaps there is!
